MAHA TET or Maharashtra TET is a state level teacher eligibility test (TET) conducted by the Maharashtra State Council of Examinations (MSCE) to determine the eligibility of candidates for teachers of classes 1 to 8 in Maharashtra schools. MAHA TET exam is conducted at two levels – Primary (Paper 1) and Upper Primary (Paper 2). Candidates planning to become a teacher of classes 1-5 will have to appear for MAHA TET Paper 1. On the other hand, candidates planning to become a teacher of class 6-8 need to appear in MAHA TET Paper 2. Be a teacher of class 1-8, need to appear for both the papers.

Maha TET 2022 Eligibility Criteria
- For Maha TET, candidates must be a citizen of India.
- Candidates must have domicile of Maharashtra state to claim benefit in the seat matrix.
- Candidates must have secured minimum 45% marks in aggregate in their Senior Secondary or equivalent examination.
- There is no age limit for MAHA TET exam.
- For paper two, a candidate must have secured 60% marks in his graduation or
- Candidates appearing or passed in four years Bachelor of Teaching.
- Candidates who have passed or appearing for 2-year Diploma in Teaching.
- 5% relaxation will be provided for reserved category candidates as per state government rules.
- Applicants who have passed or appeared in four year B.Sc. Ed/BA/ B.Sc. Ed examination with 50% marks can also apply for Upper Primary Section (6-8) Entrance Test.

Important Instructions for MAHA TET Application Form 2022
Before filling the application form, candidates must ensure that they read the instructions carefully.
- Candidates should first scan their photograph and signature as detailed under Guidelines for Scanning Photograph and Signature.
- Fill the application carefully. If the candidates are not able to fill the data in one go, they can save the already entered data. After saving the data a provisional registration number and password is generated. It will be displayed on the screen.
- Candidates should note down the Registration Number and Password. They can re-open the saved data using registration number and password and edit the details if required. This facility will be available only three times.
- Once the application is completed, candidates should submit the data. No changes/edits will be allowed after that. Registration at this stage will be provisional.
- After ensuring the correctness of the details of the application form, candidates have to pay the fee through the payment gateway integrated with the application.
- On successful completion of the transaction, e-receipt and application form will be generated; Which can be printed for the record.
- If the online transaction is not completed successfully, please register again and make the online payment.
- There will also be a provision to reprint the e-receipt and application form containing fee details at a later stage.
- Only those candidates are eligible to receive the admit card for MAHA TET, who fill the correct application form before the last date.
Maha TET 2022 Exam Pattern
Maharashtra TET is conducted by the Department of School Education, Maharashtra. The exam pattern for this exam will be presented below-
- The questions will be asked MCQ (Objective Type).
- The time duration will be given as 2 hours 30 minutes.
- 1 question of 1 mark.
- Questions will be set to assess the candidate’s ability to analyze, interpret and apply the subject.
- There will be no negative marking for wrong answers.
